About Sea Dragon Dive Center

Every diver has different needs…and often, it's the small things that matter

Established... in 1993, Sea Dragon was the first Dive Center in Khao Lak. Originally we started small, with just 5 sets of equipment, ten tanks and three staff, but we have continued to expand at an amazing rate, year after year, thanks to the recommendations and frequent return of our past customers.

Open from October to May and operating in a beautiful area on the west coast of Thailand away from the hustle and bustle of Phuket, our philosophy is that people come first and we take pride in giving personal attention to the small things, the things that matter…

Owned and managed... by Sally (English) and Peter (Swiss), Sea Dragon has an informal, friendly attitude, making you feel relaxed and at home as soon as you enter our Dive Center in Khao Lak.

Our experienced European and Thai Instructors and Divemasters together with our extensive knowledge of the Similan & Surin Islands will ensure that you enjoy first class diving at affordable prices.

Located... on the west coast of Phang Nga province in southern Thailand, Khao Lak and Thap Lamu harbour are the nearest departure points for the Similan Islands. Only 1 hour north of Phuket International Airport, two hours north of Phuket town and easily accessible by overnight bus from Bangkok, we are also on the route for daily bus and minibus services from Krabi, Surat Thani, Ranong and Phuket town.

Professionalism... Sea Dragon is a PADI 5 STAR IDC DIVE CENTER - a member of the world’s largest diver training agency. We are also a DAN Supporter (Divers Alert Network) and are affiliated with our local recompression chamber, SSS Hyperbaric Services of Thailand, located in Phuket.

Sea Dragon is officially registered with the TAT (Tourist Authority of Thailand) operators license no: 34/00180 and is a member of the TDA (Thailand Diving Association).

Experience... We employ only qualified PADI Instructors and Divemasters, speaking a variety of languages - including English, German, French, Swedish, Italian, Spanish and Thai. Many of our staff return season after season and therefore have logged hundreds of dives in the Andaman Sea.

Safety... One of the most important points, for you - and for us. All our dive equipment is purchased new and serviced regularly. We offer all customers a free dive computer on our liveaboard trips and wreck dives for extra safety and all dives are planned to be well within the recommended limits. We have full safety equipment at our Dive Center and onboard all our liveaboard & Similan day trip boats, including comprehensive medical kits and 6 demand valve oxygen regulator systems, giving 100% oxygen for at least 5 hours in the unlikely event of an emergency.

Sea Dragon Dive Center is proud to support DAN Asia-Pacific (DAN AP). The Divers Alert Network (DAN) is a global network of not-for-profit, member-based, dive safety organisations working for the safety of all divers through education, research and training. We offer... A choice of seven different liveaboard trips or three different diving and snorkelling trips to the famous Similan and Surin Islands of Thailand's Andaman Sea. Or maybe you  want to learn to dive? We also provide the full range of PADI dive courses from our Khao Lak 5 Star IDC Center, from complete beginner through to Instructor. And we also operate four local day dive trips - one to our nearby house reef, one to our local cargo wreck and two to our local tin mining wrecks, all home to a collection of leopard sharks and regularly visited by large schools of fish.

And another small point... to save you the hassle of carrying your heavy dive equipment with you, full diving equipment is included in all our liveaboard and course prices.
